Dr. Benedikt Janny is the Managing Partner of USE-Ing. GmbH. He is an active member of the working groups for medical technology, accessibility, and user research at UPA e.V. He also serves as a technical expert on the standards committee 811.4, particularly for IEC/ISO 62366, to help shape the future of human factors and usability engineering in medical technology. As a certified UX expert of the UXQB, Dr. Janny holds several patents in innovative human-machine interfaces and regularly contributes to scientific and industrial research through publications in national and international journals and conferences.

Dr. Marcus Jenke is the Managing Partner of USE-Ing. GmbH. The doctoral engineer specializes in the design of physical and digital user interfaces. He passionately shapes human-centered technology development and advises our clients on navigating the correct human-centered development process. As an active member of the Ergonomics Competence Network (ECN) and an expert on the DIN Standards Committee for Ergonomics, as well as a project leader at the international ISO level, he designs standards for the ISO 9241 series. As an inventor of patents for innovative human-machine interfaces, he builds interdisciplinary bridges for user-centered design.

Dr. Julia Moritz is a team leader in the User Research department at USE-Ing., where she oversees the coordination and organization of all study activities, from on-site user research sessions and focused group discussions to regulatory-compliant usability tests. Additionally, she leverages her extensive experience from both research and industry as an expert instructor in numerous seminars within the USE-Ing. Academy. Her strengths lie in methodological competence regarding the integration of users into the product development process.

Stephan Mayer has fully committed himself to user-centered design of technical products as a Human Factors Engineer. As the Team Lead Human Factors Engineering, he possesses the methodological competence to guide our teams in the design and execution of digital and physical human-machine interfaces. His background as a trained Technology Manager enables him to keep an eye on the complexities of holistic product development. From implementing ergonomic workplaces in production, through closely integrated design of human-robot collaboration, to the detailed design of handheld machine grips, he has already brought his experience to bear and proven himself in various areas.

Katrin Gernert works as a Usability Engineer in the fields of Usability Engineering and user-related risk analyses. Thanks to her extensive experience in conducting formative and summative usability tests in medical technology, she is well-versed in the regulatory requirements for standards-compliant documentation. Her professional identification with and handling of usability-related risks enable her to empower you to develop products that meet user requirements and make them safe for medical professionals and patients.

Robert Klank is an experienced UX/UI designer who focuses on creating intuitive user interfaces. He draws upon his expertise in UX research in the fields of mechanical engineering, aviation, and medical technology. His ability to methodically translate insights from user research into appropriate interaction concepts allows him to design highly technical human-machine interactions optimally for real-world users. He employs the necessary skills in the spirit of optimal user-centered product development.

Nicole Dewald is active in the field of medical device development as a usability expert, focusing especially on the usability engineering process in both formative and summative evaluation. Her expertise as an engineering psychologist enables her to address usability problems in depth (Root Cause Analysis) together with users during and after usability test sessions. Thanks to her practical experience in the MedTech industry, she is able to efficiently and effectively translate these usability problems into the technical world of requirements and specifications, in line with the User-Centered Design process.

Despite his professorship at Furtwangen University, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Pfeffer places great importance on remaining active in product development. Therefore, we consider ourselves fortunate to have our long-time companion as part of the USE-Ing. team. He is engaged in the fields of usability engineering, usability testing, and user requirements engineering. He is a multiple-certified expert in usability and user experience by the UXQB (International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board e.V.). He is also actively involved in the medical technology working group of the German UPA and the association for the promotion of biotechnology and medical technology e.V.

As a Junior Usability Engineer, Hanna Scherer's professional expertise focuses on the user-centered development of technology. She has already been able to apply and refine her interdisciplinary training in engineering psychology and human factors in many real projects in various industries.

Julian Osburg has already contributed his skills as a proficient Junior Human Factors Engineer to many developments. His passion lies in the design of hand-operated devices. In this area, he conducts expert-based human factors analyses, as well as quantifiable measurements of application forces and vibrations. This enables him to create design parameter recommendations for HMI product designs. He combines his education in the fields of work science, ergonomics, and device usability with his engineering and design skills to translate optimization potentials into tangible concepts and prototypes.

Christiane is responsible for office management across locations in Stuttgart and Magdeburg. She handles the organization and coordination of key activities in the user-centered development process. Her solid professional experience as a "trouble-shooter" allows her to address and solve problems and bottlenecks in a service-oriented manner. Whether interacting with our customers, partners, and suppliers, or with the numerous users of the products we develop, she passionately represents the USE-Ing. intrinsic slogan, "Developing technology for and with people."
